TextBack AI ("we," "our," or "us") operates the TextBack AI mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Text content you submit. When you paste or describe a text conversation to generate reply suggestions, that content is sent to our AI processing service. We do not store your conversation content after a reply is generated.
• Usage data. We collect anonymized analytics about how you interact with the App (e.g., features used, session duration) to improve the product. This data cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
• Purchase information. If you subscribe, purchases are processed by Apple (App Store). We receive only a purchase receipt token; we never see or store your payment card details.
• Device identifiers. We may collect an anonymous device or installation identifier to support subscription verification, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising measurement. On iOS, advertising identifiers are collected and shared for attribution only when you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Feedback and support communications. If you send in-app feedback or contact us by email, we retain the category, message, app and platform details, anonymous installation identifier, and any contact email you choose to provide. Providing an email and allowing follow-up are optional.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
• To generate AI-powered reply suggestions based on text you submit.
• To verify and manage in-app subscriptions.
• To respond to your support requests and communications.
• To monitor and analyze usage patterns and diagnose technical issues.
• To measure which advertising campaigns lead to installs and subscriptions, where you have consented.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• AI processing providers. Text you submit is transmitted through Vercel AI Gateway to our configured AI model provider solely to generate the requested analysis or reply. See Vercel's Privacy Notice.
• Apple (App Store / StoreKit). Subscription and purchase management is handled by Apple.
• RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage subscription entitlements and purchase status, and to send consented subscription-conversion events to advertising platforms.
• Meta. We use Meta's mobile SDK and Conversions API to measure app installs and subscription conversions from Meta advertising. On iOS, identifiers used for cross-app advertising attribution are enabled only after you grant App Tracking Transparency permission.
• PostHog. We use privacy-filtered product analytics to understand feature usage and improve the App. Conversation text, screenshots, and feedback messages are excluded from analytics events.
• Cloudflare and support automation. Cloudflare hosts our API and stores in-app feedback. Feedback is also delivered to our private support automation so our team can review and respond to it.

4. Data Retention

We do not persistently store the text content you submit for reply generation — it is processed in-transit and discarded. Anonymized analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. In-app feedback, any optional contact email, and support correspondence are retained for up to 3 years, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

5. Children's Privacy

TextBack AI is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at support@textback.me and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by an in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
